1997 BEAVER 23 SDL

1997 BEAVER 23 SDL having a luxury 4 berth bespoke interior with enlarged toilet/shower wash-room, a well equipped galley and “Atwood” blown air central heating.  The craft also has the benefit of 240v AC electricity from a shoreline hook-up.

The forward saloon area is laid out to our twin table dinette system offering either two single berths or large double across.  The 5” Reflex foam upholstery is covered with hard-wearing cream tapestry fabric giving the seating a high-quality feel.

A recently fitted stereo radio/CD player, with removable security face, is within easy reach of the bed.

The central galley has generous working surfaces containing a 4 burner hob with glass lid, a grill and oven, and a s/s sink and drainer.  Opposite is an Electrolux 60L ‘fridge and a full- height feature pine dresser top providing high level galley storage without loss of work-top space.  Below the galley worktops there are two large storage drawers on each side and original storage space is still available at floor level for plastic boxes for the storage of pots and pans and additional food.

Overhead in the galley, there is a large sun-roof which can be opened.

A wardrobe amidships, provides ¾ length hanging space with a mirror fitted to the back of the door.  This wardrobe also accommodates the “Atwood” central heating and hot water storage heater enabling the space above to function as an airing cupboard. Opposite the wardrobe is a spacious low-level cupboard with 2 shelves.

At the rear of the boat, the remaining 2 berths, one above the other, are opposite the shower compartment; both berths have swivel reading lamps.  The upper berth is demountable to enable the lower berth to be used as daytime seating if required.

The shower compartment is larger than normal and has additional under-deck storage for the Portapotti when showering.    A second Portapotti waste tank is included.  The compartment also has a decorative make-up mirror,  a wall-fixed shelf, and a fold away wash basin.

An all-white replacement headlining was recently fitted by ourselves which, together with the sunroof above, makes the interior of the boat remarkably light and airy but also adds to roof thermal insulation for “off-season” cruising.

New kitchen taps and a new shower mixer tap have also recently been fitted.

The tiller steered engine is an electric-start 4-stroke YAMAHA F9.9A with good charging, was professionally serviced last year and is reported as running well.  There are dual 85 A/hr leisure batteries in the external locker with 3 way selection switch. The other external safety storage lockers in the stern cockpit accommodate L.P.G. and petrol.

Current owner has had two 100watt solar panels fitted to the exterior of the coach roof which are, via good quality charge control regulators, connected directly to the batteries, one of which is less than a year old and both are reported as charging and discharging reliably. This display allows the state of charge to be seen at a glance in the cabin.  The rig is described as providing adequate power away from shore even in “off season” use and gives peace of mind for the engine starter motor.

Extras include the centre bed-board in the forward saloon with additional matching cushions providing a very spacious double bed, a good quality radio/CD player, and navigation lights.     The boat has been used extensively in trailboat mode both in the U.K. and in France (by cross-Chanel ferry) and has been wintered-out most years on its trailer.

The Boat Safety Certificate is valid to April 2021

The trailer included in the sale, is a fully galvanized twin-axle unit with an M.G.W. of 2600kgs and comes c/w spare wheel, security straps, lighting board and a security lock; it was purchased new in 2007.
